“Make-me-tallers” … Stilts!

Stilts, because they make us taller. Steven headed up this project. We sent the boys outside to make stilts together. We had a majority of them in favor. In fact only one, Marcus wasn’t on board. So, we began and let him do his own thing.

Marcus decided he wanted to collect the eggs. He shoved two in each six-year old pocket and proceeded to carry his sword to the back porch. Being mom and wondering what #3 was up too, I stopped him before he made it to the house. I found my sword clad son had four eggs, and a moist pocket. Suddenly he was very upset, an egg had broke. We saved two eggs, he changed his clothes, and I started another load of laundry. Then, he wanted all of the brothers to go play bike wars! I thought stilts were cool, everyone wanted to put making stilts on the list. Nope, he wanted to play bike wars. We started making stilts without him, he came around. Everyone had a blast! Stilts were a success. Perhaps they will survive until our obstacle course…

The brothers each helped me (Steven) with the stilts. Sanding, sawing, and cutting. We completed one set before the other. That distracted half the workers. Shadrach helped me finish the other set. We got the stilts out of the barn just in time to watch the dog jump the fence!

Racing with stilts proved entertaining. I won! Donald came in a close second and Ahni even stilted, in a skirt! Stilts also make good weapons, in case you’re wondering.
