A pastor’s family doesn’t get out much. School is Monday through Friday and Dad preaches on Sunday. This is partly why we believe Homeschooling is awesome! I no longer have to take my children out of school for a break. Recently we snuck away for a little break.
Two of our boys, numbers one (Donald) and three (Marcus), have September birthdays. This year we celebrated at Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, TX; the perfect homeschool field trip! Staying in the middle of the week during the school year got us a great deal, by the way.
We dropped our four-legged family member off at a pet-hotel Monday afternoon, Critter Care takes wonderful care of pets and bathes them before you pick them up. We packed our bags, lunch fixings, snacks and entertainment for the kids, and headed out.
The boys marked their territory a couple of places between Childress and Grapevine, Steven and I waited for proper facilities. Overall, the boys got along swimmingly the whole drive to Great Wolf Lodge. We checked in as soon as we arrived at the hotel. Steven took the kids to swim while Baby Z and I enjoyed some alone time.
We had a great time. Even got to see some family while we were the area: Carl’s Aunt and Uncle, Steven’s cousin, and Ms. Elizabeth.
