Chom Chom

In our efforts to try new things we picked up a couple of chom chom fruit and some persimmons. We’ve never heard of a chom chom, much less tasted one.

The Chom Chom comes from the “rambutan (/ræmˈbtən/; taxonomic name: Nephelium lappaceum) is a medium-sized tropical tree in the family Sapindaceae. The fruit produced by the tree is also known as rambutan.”

The chom chom looks like it could be a porcupine egg, and that made it cooler. Encapsulating the fruit is a hard, spin-covered shell. Inside the fruit looks like an eyeball.

Both the chom chom and the persimmon tasted good! The boys enjoyed them.
